Sponsor projects

Laser

Laser, one of the largest dinghy manufacturers in the world, has shown a passionate commitment by pledging to support RYA Sailability for three years. Their support, particularly at boat shows, has not only raised thousands of pounds but also awareness of the charity’s work. Laser staff are encouraged to volunteer for events and regattas as well as raise money through their own fundraising initiatives. Recently, the company donated two Lasers, sails, life jackets and launching trolleys to two young sailors, whose cross-Channel challenge raised £10,000 for RYA Sailability.

Skandia Sailing Club

Skandia Sailing Club raised more than £10,000 at their summer charity ball in 2006 where guests enjoyed a gala dinner dance and spectacular auction with prizes from local businesses.  Staff have also been finding out all about RYA Sailability and disability awareness training.

Harken

Harken UK, producers of high quality deck fittings, have made RYA Sailability their chosen charity, raising money at a summer party and promoting awareness of the charity amongst staff. The company is also supporting the Artemis 20 project - a fast, high performance keelboat designed to allow able- bodied and less mobile sailors to compete against each other in the same boat.
